By entering the festival grounds, all attendees, staff, artists, vendors, contractors, media, and volunteers agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
Respect Everyone
SYNC has zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abusive behavior of any kind.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Racism
- Sexism
- Homophobia or transphobia
- Harassment or unwanted physical contact
- Threatening behavior
- Hate speech
- Stalking
- Non-consensual photography or filming intended to harass or exploit others
Treat fellow attendees, staff, performers, security, and the surrounding community with respect at all times.
Consent Matters
SYNC is committed to a culture of consent.
- "No" always means no.
- Silence or intoxication is not consent.
- Respect personal space and boundaries.
- Any form of sexual harassment or assault will result in immediate removal from the festival and may involve law enforcement.
Look Out for One Another
Festivals are a shared experience. Help create a positive environment by:
- Checking in on friends and fellow attendees
- Reporting unsafe or concerning behavior
- Seeking medical assistance when needed
- Respecting the waterfront venue and public spaces
If you see something unsafe, notify festival staff or security immediately.
Health & Safety
For the safety of everyone onsite:
- Follow instructions from security, medical personnel, and festival staff
- Do not enter restricted or backstage areas without authorization
- Dangerous behavior, fighting, crowd rushing, or vandalism will not be tolerated
- Illegal activity may result in ejection and/or police involvement
SYNC reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone whose behavior compromises the safety or enjoyment of others.
Substance Use & Harm Reduction
SYNC encourages responsible decision-making.
- Drink water regularly and take breaks when needed
- Know your limits
- Never pressure others into consuming substances
- Medical assistance is always prioritized over punishment
Attendees are encouraged to seek help immediately if they or someone nearby appears distressed or unwell.
Respect the Venue
Please help us keep the festival grounds clean and enjoyable for everyone.
- Use garbage and recycling bins
- Respect festival property, equipment, and installations
- Do not damage the venue or surrounding waterfront areas
Any intentional damage or theft may result in removal and financial liability.
Prohibited Items & Behavior
The following may result in denied entry or removal from the festival:
- Weapons of any kind
- Violent or aggressive behavior
- Unauthorized vending or promotion
- Illegal substances or illegal activity
- Dangerous crowd behavior
- Tampering with safety equipment
- Harassment of staff, artists, or attendees
Festival security reserves final discretion on all safety-related matters.
Photography & Media
By attending SYNC, you acknowledge that festival photography and video recording may occur for promotional and archival purposes.
Please be respectful when photographing or filming others.
Reporting Issues
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct:
- Speak to the nearest staff member, security guard, or medical team
- Visit the festival information or guest services area
- In emergencies, contact onsite security immediately
All reports will be taken seriously and handled respectfully.
